Political Action Committee
The MCEA PAC exists to help identify those candidates running for office that support public education. The PAC meets when necessary, usually following a scheduled MCEA meeting, interviews candidates and makes recommendations to the WVEA on which local candidates to support. Candidates that are seeking the endorsement of MCEA and educators in our county or state, need to respond to the survey that is provided by WVEA early in their campaign. MCEA can only endorse those candidates that are willing to clearly demonstrate their support of the efforts of the education staff in our community. We believe that educators and educational support personnel are the true experts in reforming education and should have a strong voice. We thank those elected officials who have supported us in the past. All MCEA members are members of the PAC and are welcome to attend our meetings and have a voice. Currently the president of the PAC is Elaine Matheny and the treasurer is Brenda Saunders.
